DPI Clinical Development & Research Team
DPI Clinical Development & Research TeamThe DPI Clinical Development Team  leads the execution of innovative clinical trials in collaboration with Indonesia’s top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), aiming to establish Indonesia as a regional hub for pharmaceutical research. Our approach is strategically patient-centric and innovation driven. we develop studies tailored to real-world medical needs, optimizing dosing strategies and indications through rigorous integration of clinical, preclinical, and local practice insights.By empowering Indonesia’s medical ecosystem through structured capacity-building programs for physicians serving as Medical Affairs partners and Clinical Project Leaders, and synergizing with our global R&D headquarters, we are co-creating a dynamic, future-ready clinical development infrastructure in Indonesia. This platform is designed to accelerate access to breakthrough therapies and elevate the nation’s role in advancing global health.
Projects
Clinical Trials for Innovative Drugs
At Daewoong, we believe innovation starts with listening. We design our clinical trials based on close collaboration with healthcare professionals and a deep understanding of patient needs. By focusing on real-world challenges, we ensure our research delivers meaningful impact. We conduct studies across key therapeutic areas such as gastroenterology, endocrinology, orthopedics, aesthetic and regenerative medicine. Through local Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) and case-based clinical research, Our goal is to empower physicians and improve outcomes for the patients they serve.
Real-World Evidence Generation
We recognize that patient populations differ by genetics, environment, and medical practice. That’s why Daewoong is committed to generating real-world evidence (RWE) that reflects the realities of diverse communities, including Indonesia. We leverage both local and global clinical data to validate the safety and effectiveness of our therapies in everyday clinical settings. By doing so, we ensure our innovations are not only scientifically sound but also truly relevant to the people who need them most.
Medical Advisory & KOL Engagement
We lead scientific discussions through Advisory Board Meetings and focused medical symposiums, creating a platform for continuous dialogue with Indonesia’s top clinicians. These engagements go beyond data dissemination. we designed to explore unmet clinical needs, exchange scientific insights, and share the latest advancements in medical innovation. By collaborating across key therapeutic areas such as gastroenterology, endocrinology, orthopedics, cardiology, and stem cell therapy, we foster mutual learning and evidence-driven partnerships that inform both clinical practice and future research priorities.
Future-Focused Studies
We focus on new and emerging treatment areas such as functional gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, regenerative medicine, and dermatology. These initiatives reflect our commitment to addressing future healthcare needs by generating early scientific insights that support innovation and better patient care. By staying aligned with evolving medical trends and national health priorities, we aim to develop research that contributes to the next generation of medical solutions in Indonesia.

Daewoong's Open Collaboration: A Practical Model for Innovation and Talent Development

Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Open Collaboration goes beyond traditional technology transfer or commissioned research. It is an execution-driven, co-development platform where local researchers and in-house scientists work together to define, implement, and advance pharmaceutical formulation projects.

At the core of this initiative is the ITB DDS Lab (Institut Teknologi Bandung Drug Delivery System Laboratory), a state-of-the-art research facility equipped with advanced instrumentation tailored for solid dosage form development. The platform enables researchers to access this infrastructure directly, conducting on-site experiments and collaborative discussions with Daewoong experts when needed. This flexible and hands-on approach strengthens experimental execution and enhances the overall technical robustness of each project.

The program serves as a foundation for cultivating Indonesia’s most promising pharmaceutical researchers, providing them with the opportunity to gain practical R&D experience and grow into globally competitive scientists. Moreover, by accumulating know-how and data throughout the collaboration process, Daewoong is actively bridging research, development, and commercialization—ensuring that scientific progress translates into real-world pharmaceutical solutions.

Through Open Collaboration, Daewoong is building a sustainable innovation ecosystem—where local talent, academic excellence, and industrial application converge to drive meaningful change in the pharmaceutical landscape.
