Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia (hereinafter ‘Daewoong’) announced on the 8th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI, Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia). This agreement aims to establish a long-term foundation for collaboration to enhance the expertise of local pharmacists and promote public health. The two organizations plan to pursue collaboration in the areas of ▲ pharmacist education and expertise enhancement, ▲ academic and expert collaboration, ▲ public health and disease management, and ▲ pharmaceutical localization and healthcare model development.
Daewoong and the Indonesian Pharmacists Association will operate tailored education programs for local pharmacists. In particular, they will provide lectures focusing on the latest pharmaceutical trends and disease management to enable pharmacists to conduct patient-centered medication counseling. The program will be operated regularly in the form of nationwide online webinars and regional offline symposia. They also plan to share cooperation achievements and healthcare content through official websites and social media.
Furthermore, the two parties will jointly operate a local expert advisory group of pharmacists to conduct brand counseling as well as product planning tailored to consumer characteristics. Through this advisory group, Daewoong plans to localize premium brands such as Easyderm, Impactamin, and Easy End 6 to suit Indonesia's climate, culture, and consumer characteristics. Feedback from local experts will be directly incorporated into the product planning and marketing stages. Going forward, the company intends to reflect field insights into products and communications, establishing a localized healthcare model that delivers expert-based health information.
Through this collaboration, Daewoong plans to build local consumer trust, strengthen brand competitiveness, and continue collaboration with the ultimate goal of ranking first in the Indonesian OTC drug market by 2030.
Eunkyeong Park, Head of Consumer Healthcare Division at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated, "This agreement will serve as a crucial stepping stone for pharmacy experts from both Korea and Indonesia to learn and grow together, while establishing a long-term partnership for the advancement of public health and the improvement of public wellness." She further emphasized, "Moving beyond the one-way sharing of experience, Daewoong will actively cooperate to co-design and develop collaborative models for education, public health, and the enhancement of pharmacist expertise, thereby ensuring that the pharmacy communities of both nations can secure a foundation for sustainable growth."
