Ms. Ayesha from Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia’s Medical Clinical Development Team plays a pivotal role in strengthening Daewoong’s scientific credibility in the local medical community. Formerly a practicing physician, she is now extending her positive influence beyond hospital walls into a wider healthcare ecosystem.
Not limited to delivering knowledge, she translates complex medical guidelines into ‘practical tools’ that can be immediately applied in the field—helping both healthcare professionals and internal team members gain confidence. Based on autonomy and growth, Ms. Ayesha is passionately contributing to establishing a new standard in regenerative medicine in Indonesia.
[Autonomy and Growth] Setting Her Own Goals and Creating New Value

Q. What motivated you to take on a new challenge as a Medical Advisor at Daewoong, beyond your previous career as a physician?
- While treating patients directly was rewarding, I wanted to improve the overall medical environment by supporting evidence-based medicine and developing better medical strategies. The role of a Medical Advisor appealed to me because it contributes “upstream”—creating systematic changes at the very front end of medical practice, ultimately benefitting more patients. I also wanted to take ownership of my career, create new value, and grow beyond predefined paths.
Q. What aspects of Daewoong’s corporate culture enable such proactive initiatives?
- Daewoong’s culture of autonomy and growth encourages employees to set ambitious goals and take on new challenges beyond hierarchical boundaries. Being empowered by the company and given ownership of projects allowed me to make independent decisions, which developed me into a more strategic and proactive professional.
[Collaboration and Communication] Creating Synergy as One Team

Q. You communicate with more than 40 KOLs across various fields. What is your personal approach to building effective relationships with them?
- The key is listening and thorough preparation. I always begin by carefully listening to and understanding each medical expert’s priorities. When this is supported by solid scientific evidence, true trust and strong connections naturally follow.
Q. When collaborating with other departments such as Marketing or PR, what value do you consider most important?
- I believe that “success is shared.” No function can thrive in isolation—each department needs the others to grow. When we acknowledge one another’s strengths and move together toward a common goal with a One Team spirit, we achieve sustainable outcomes that wouldn’t be possible alone.
Q. You’ve also served as a bridge for global communication at international events like KDDW. What do you find most appealing about ‘Global Daewoong’?
- The best part is the constant challenge and growth that come from working in a fast-paced, globally competitive environment. Collaborating with international colleagues broadens perspectives and accelerates learning and innovation. It’s deeply fulfilling to share local insights on global platforms while also integrating global knowledge into local strategies through two-way collaboration.
[Professionalism and Ownership] Helping Doctors Gain Confidence Through Practical Tools

Q. Clinical research may seem complex to laypeople. How does your work ultimately impact patients’ lives?
- Simply put, it’s about scientifically verifying that new therapies are truly safe and effective before they are widely used. Through this process, doctors can make evidence-based decisions, and patients can receive safe treatments. Ultimately, we help Indonesian patients access medical care that meets global standards.
Q. Please introduce the work you are currently focusing on, which involves the development of Practical Tools.
- When I joined Daewoong, there were no internally developed materials that could be used consistently for internal teams or external stakeholders, especially in the area of stem cell and regenerative therapy, which is still relatively new and not widely understood by many clinicians.
My role in developing Practical Tools is to translate complex scientific information such as guidelines, journals, and regulatory references into simple, structured, and usable materials. These tools include training materials and practical checklists that explain key concepts, mechanisms of action, indications, safety considerations, and clear do’s and don’ts.
The goal is to make the information understandable even for those without a background in regenerative medicine, while still remaining scientifically accurate.
These tools are now widely used for internal training, marketing and medical activities, doctor education, and medical booths at scientific events. They also help standardize medical communication so that messages delivered by different teams remain accurate, compliant, and consistent.
Overall, this work allows internal teams and healthcare professionals to engage with regenerative therapies more confidently and responsibly, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world clinical practice.
Q. When do you feel the greatest sense of pride in your work?
- When the tools or data I’ve developed genuinely address the needs of the medical field. The belief that “what I create can directly impact patient outcomes” strengthens my sense of ownership and shapes my daily approach to work. I go beyond completing tasks—I’m driven by a mission to build a better treatment environment.
