Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia (DPI) welcomed an academic visit from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) through a Factory Visit program to its GMP Cosmetic and Stem Cell facilities on January 27, 2026, in Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia. The activity was attended by 100 pharmacy students, accompanied by faculty members, and was conducted in two separate sessions.

This visit reflects Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia’s commitment to advancing education and strengthening academia–industry collaboration in pharmacy, biotechnology, and advanced therapy, building on more than 20 years as a trusted growth partner in Indonesia. Through continuous capability building and knowledge sharing, Daewoong aims to contribute to Indonesia’s healthcare ecosystem by delivering total healthcare solutions that create long-term value for patients, professionals, and society.

During the visit, participants received scientific presentations on Advanced Stem Cell Therapy and Cosmetics with Biomaterial Technology, delivered by the Manager of Pharma Production 1 and the Manager of Cosmetic Production. Through these sessions, students gained a comprehensive understanding of the GMP-based manufacturing process, from early production stages to the development of high-value products that meet stringent standards of safety, quality, and efficacy.
Following the presentations, the students participated in a site tour, providing them with the opportunity to directly observe Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia’s GMP-certified facilities. The tour covered the cosmetic production area, stem cell production area, and the Quality Control laboratory, all of which are equipped with advanced technologies to ensure consistent product quality and safety.
Dr. apt. Fita Rahmawati, Sp.FRS, Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, stated “The program provided significant benefits for students. Through this factory visit, students gained new insights into how advanced therapy products are manufactured in GMP environments using high-level technology, knowledge that cannot be fully obtained through classroom learning alone.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Sylvia Utami Tunjung Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Si., another faculty member accompanying the visit, expressed her sincere appreciation to Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia. “The industry visit serves as valuable early preparation for students before entering the professional workforce, particularly within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.”
Aileen Jovita Irvana, a UGM pharmacy student, said, “This factory visit was a very valuable experience for me. I was impressed by Daewoong’s advanced technology and GMP facilities, and the materials shared gave me new insights into how what we learn in the classroom is applied in the real pharmaceutical industry.” Meanwhile, Khaira Aliya Setiawan, another student participant, added, “It really helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world practice.”
Through this initiative, Daewoong Pharmaceutical Indonesia reaffirms its long-term commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s healthcare ecosystem by developing future-ready talent and expanding students’ real-world understanding of GMP standards in an industrial setting. The company will continue building sustainable collaborations with universities across Indonesia, sharing expertise, nurturing competencies, and supporting the advancement of total healthcare solutions for patients and society.
